RIP Lauren Bacall. I suppose you'll be keen to hear my anecdote. In the mid nineties I was working at the National Theatre. One day I saw Lauren Bacall in the lobby by the refectory waiting for a lift. SO? So, what didn't happen was, when I saw her push the button to call the lift I said you'd be better off whistling for it, you know how to whistle, don't you, Steve?
